Default Lets discuss my characters and future gameplay

Now that I've grabbed your attention I would like for you to debate w/ me plz.

Here's the situation:
I have 2 main chars, both I've had for over a year. During the course of the year I've been a collector of MANY things, but primarily for my main char: Chaotic Dark.

(I'm not playing my game right now so you'll have to excuse me if I can't remember all the names, I'm just remembering them off the top of my head.)

On Chaotic Dark I have the following:
Over 1,000,000 xp
Full FoW Armor
UW Spider
15k Canthan Armor
8k Scar Pattern Armor (For my 55 HP Build.)
1.5k Canthan Scar Blood/Curse/Death Face (Purely because I think it looks the most evil, IMO.)
{Green} Blood Staff (SF/GF)
{Green} Curse Staff (SF/GF)
{Green} Bortak Set (SF/GF)
55 HP Build Wand/Focus thingy

I also have these in my storage for him to have at anytime:
2005 Pumpkin Head
2005 Santa Hat/Reindeer Hat
2006 Dragon Head
2006 Pumpkin Head
{Green} Mini Bone Dragon
{Green} Mini Kuunavang

I only missed out on the bird head since I was out to sea during that time.

I also have many other collector stuff such as every single candy cane weapon.

Why am I telling you this? To show you all that I'm a COLLECTOR of PvE stuff for that character. I specifically farm just to buy those greenies, but at the same time, work my way to getting that UW Spider.

------------------------------------------------

Okay, now that I've explained my collectornessessess I need your opinion.

Originally I used my W/Mo as my farming build to get all that nice dough, but then I found about the 55 HP necro on here and decided to go get the weapon by starting a new char... basically, now my W/Mo is useless as a farmer cause my necro can do it now. Not only that, but I don't need him as a runner anymore since now all I have to do is bring heros w/ me and wam, bam, thank you mam, I've killed everything, gained more xp, and don't have to worry about running anymore.

So now my only other main I use is now useless. As is the question goes, "Why should I even focus on making a new character?"

The thing is this: MONEY! MONEY costs time. Time of which I don't have much of. It usually takes me (average farm) to rake up 10 - 30k in 10 min. That's still 10 min. of the time I'd prefer doing missions, PvP, & other real life stuff.

I'm VERY obsessed w/ getting all the best stuff PvE for my main that sometimes I want to get my other char a 15k armor set as well. More money, more time farming, back to where I started. And now that I want to make a dervish...

------------------------------------------------

Another thing is STORAGE! I've now collected sooo many PvE stuff that I've had to make a storage unit out of a character. Oye.

------------------------------------------------

So my question is this: "Should I stop making more PvE chars, focus on my main, make a PvP char if I want PvP, and perhaps even delete every PvE char I have besides my main so I won't be tempted into wanting to buy them more stuff as well?"

I'm really thinking about it. I'm no longer using my farmer/runner and he's looking like a waste of time & money. The ONLY reason for me to not delete him is because he gets a mini pet whenever I get one on my main.

Just looking for opinions. I usually only play Chaotic Dark or PvP chars now and starting a new char would only prolong everything else, all IMO of course.

Thanks for any ideas and/or comments,

I say you should go ahead and focus on your main, but give your others any treats that catch your eye if you have some extra resources. All my charcters have 15k armor; but only one has two different sets. As far as pvp goes, I suggest just keeping one pvp slot and saving all your templates so you can reroll quickly.

Also, try not to make multiple pve characters with the same primary profession. You can just switch secondaries and whatnot. I know a guy with three pve wammo's which just strikes me as the stupidest thing ever...

Try to sell any weapons you don't absolutely need; and maybe ditch some excess armor you don't use much.

I don't want to be hard, but fow armor isn't a "must have"....
I guess that guy on an other topic was quite right: A fow armor user hasn't much money left for other things if he doesn't farm 24/7.

Collecting everything is nice, i totally agree with that, but it's quite expensive, so don't argue because you can't play the game normally if you use all your money for it

I too have my "money problems" in gw, but my money reserves stay quite stable as long as i don't buy anything and just enjoy nightfall

*i hope for you someone shares his uber 1337 non nerfed 30 per 10 minute tactic with you *

Oh, I actually got it a LOOOONG time ago back when it was actually super rare to see.

I actually have the bragging rights to say that I was the 2nd person to ever post a picture of full FoW necro male armor anywhere on the internet.

Yah, before me was that one necro picture w/ the chaos axe in front not showing everything. You can find my original picture on gameamp if you look far enough into the posts (like a year, lol).

To bad for some of us, part of "enjoying" Nightfall, means using money that I don't have cause I can't make it and still have some left over without spending it on what i need to spend it on such as max armor and weapons and skills. I'm not going to adapt my play style to fit Anets misconceived way of making a game, I'm just going to complain about it while not actually having a problem cause I can afford 2 more sets of 15k.

To the OP, having more characters is just a hassle, I mean you can get bored with your main and want to use others do it but don't buy anything for it unless that character makes it back so your storage reserve don't get low. Play your main one until there's nothing left to do with him. I have 9 characters so I know all about the character drama, I play with my warrior the most regardless and some characters don't get played for weeks at a time.

Misleading title.

The reason to play the game with another character is to play through the game in another role. Instead of a warrior, a healer for example.

Nightfalls is expensive. I might just suck at managing money, but I dropped from 280k to 50k (aprox) just outfitting three characters and their heroes. Call me a perfectionist, but I like perfect mods and stuff like that. And I still haven't gotten all the skill for them yet (bring back skill rewards for quests!) Money is gonna be a problem every expansion thingie...

I agree with the storage problem. Currently, my ranger is holding all the extra materials I have. My Dervish has all my inscriptions, my mesmer has all my dyes, and my warrior has all my extra runes. We NEED more space! I'm running out between my armor sets, weapons, and collectors stuff!

You failed as a collector since you don't have Tengu Mask......and Rurik. XD

And I don't see Witch Hat on the list either.

You're no PvE'er. You're some kind of merchant AFAIK.

PvE'ers would love to make new characters, grow them and build stories around them AFAIK. Doesn't sound like you.

10-30k in 10 minutes of farming Sure........................

So you want to buy tons of stuff for your characters but are too lazy to farm when you can make 10-30k every 10 minutes? Which is 60-180k an hour. Basically you can get a set of 15k armor nearly every hour. So to get 6 sets of 15k armor would take 6 hours. Most people only get around 10k an hour from farming and manage to buy stuff for their characters.

If you want the best stuff then work for it. 15k and FOW armor is not compulsory and neither are expensive weapons. If you want them then put the work in. I find this pretty shocking considering you claim to be able to make 60-180k an hour from farming.

Why do you play the game?

Do you want a superior, fully outfitted character?
Do you want to do missions?
Do you want to amass huge ammounts of money?
Do you want to roleplay one a specific character?

Figure that out, the rest will settle itself.

You say you would rather be doing missions. Then do them. At the same time, you want to have the best gear. Then go get it.

You apparently know your way around. Just settle for what you want. And you get 4 slots minimum, so there's little stopping you from having mule characters.

Time, in any aspect of life is limited. You cannot ever hope to have everything. So choose what you like most and do that.

assuming he has all 3 chapters, he has 8 slots minimum

I'm a PVEr

playing *all* the classes is the most fun for me
- especially doing the missions from all 3 chapters

I have 13 PVE characters, one for each class
- 2 rangers (for different chapter looks)
- 3 eles (for different chapter looks)

EDIT:
I dont farm and dont have alot of cash - but still manage fine with max armor and equipped heroes
(thanks to Collector rewards)

Making mule characters is a big part of having a decent farmer, because you always find more than you can hold, I think Guild Wars needs to make it possible to buy more storage space from the Xunlai
